I was so excited to find a manufacturer in Australia that made cast iron beds, the difficult part was choosing a design because everything was so beautiful.
My husband and I were sleeping on a mattress on the floor while waiting for our new bed, I mentioned this to Glenn, Glenn told me to put something under the mattress to avoid the mattress from going mouldy, the next day our slats arrived!

His knowledge, advice & friendly approach is unique in today's world. We chose the Surrey in king size & black finish. Assembling the bed was so easy, instructions clear to follow & the fit & finish is millimetre perfect. The quality of the materials used in making the bed is the difference - the bed is rock solid. We just love the look of the bed & it would blend perfectly with a traditional or contemporary design home. We highly recommend Empire Beds they're a 10 / 10 from start to finish.

I ordered a Queen-sized Ascot from Empire beds because I was able to have it custom built for only a small additional cost. Glenn lengthened the legs by 150mm, which has created a huge amount of storage space under the bed for camping and sporting equipment including large trunks. The bed is solidly built and the quality of the finish is excellent.
I was also impressed by the care taken in packing to prevent damage during shipping to Western Australia. It was well worth the money to have a beautiful and practical bed that will probably be in my family for generations.

As cliché as it sounds, if I could rate Empire Beds more than 5 stars I absolutely would. Glenn was exceptionally prompt with responses and kept me well informed in regards to the progression of my order. And despite the COVID lockdowns, my bed was delivered to rural Victoria within three days of being shipped!
The assembly was straightforward, to the point that I managed to assemble the entire bed by myself, and for the last few weeks that I’ve been sleeping on it, I’ve not heard, or felt, a single creaky joint.

I purchased an Empire bed; king size, Ascot style in cream. Assembly was pretty easy for the two of us with clear instructions in English. The bed is beautifully constructed in Australia (no comparison to cheap, nasty poorly made imports) & so worth the money.
Glenn at Empire beds was very easy to communicate with. I purchased extra support legs as I was putting on a latex King size mattress. The bed arrived in Adelaide, South Australia according to schedule in three packages. I used a sack truck to move the parcels no problem.
